Half-price specials at Coles & Woolworths this week (AU)
Last updated 26 September 2026
Half-price specials at Coles and Woolworths change every week, so the honest way to use them is to know where this week's real catalogue lives and how to tell a genuine half-price from a "was" price that was quietly inflated first. This page is the shortcut: the official links, what tends to drop, and the checks worth thirty seconds before you fill the trolley. We don't reprint the whole catalogue here — it changes weekly and you should always buy from the retailer's own current page.
Where this week's half-price specials actually are
Both major chains roll out a new catalogue every Wednesday, and both publish their current half-price and specials list on their own site:
- Coles — Coles specials and the weekly catalogue.
- Woolworths — Woolworths specials and the weekly catalogue.
Those pages are always current, which is exactly why we link to them rather than copying a list that would be wrong within days.
What usually goes half-price
The deepest, shortest-lived cuts tend to land on the same categories week to week: pantry staples (pasta, sauces, tinned goods), snacks and confectionery, soft drink and cordial, cleaning and laundry, and health & beauty lines like shampoo, razors and vitamins. Fresh meat and seafood get the occasional big markdown, but those windows are short. Everyday fridge and freezer staples — milk, bread, frozen veg — move on smaller, steadier discounts rather than dramatic half-price drops.
How to tell a real half-price from an inflated one
"Half price" only means something if the "was" price is real. A few quick checks:
- Look at the unit price, not the dollar figure. A larger pack at 30% off is often cheaper per 100g than a small pack at 50% off.
- Be wary of a suspiciously round "was". A staple that jumps to a clean, high number the week before a "half-price" sale is the oldest trick in the catalogue.
- Check loyalty pricing first. Everyday Rewards and Flybuys member prices sometimes beat the catalogue half-price outright.
- Know the normal price. For anything you buy often, you already know roughly what it costs — trust that over the sticker.
This is the same price-history logic the rest of the board runs on. For the longer version, read how we check a "was" price and 5 signs a discount isn't real.
Getting the most out of half-price week
- Stock the non-perishables. Half-price is the moment to buy a few weeks of pasta, tinned tomatoes, coffee or laundry powder — things that keep.
- Skip perishables you can't finish. A half-price punnet you throw out isn't a saving.
- Stack it. A catalogue half-price plus a member offer plus points can beat any single discount.
We don't list Coles or Woolworths specials on the board itself (neither is a partner yet), so use the links above for this week's catalogue. For the pantry and household deals we do track, see the groceries deals page →.
