An AU/NZ deals board that checks its own discounts

Last updated 25 August 2026

Tasman Bargain Board is a deals site for shoppers in Australia and New Zealand. It collects discounts from across a range of retailers, works out which of them are real, and puts them in one searchable place.

Why this exists

Most deal sites repeat whatever the merchant says. A retailer lists a recommended price of $299 on something that has not actually sold above $120 in a year, the site prints "60% off", and the shopper is no better informed than before.

This board is built around not doing that. It records what an item actually sells for over time and compares today's price against that history, not against the merchant's claimed usual price. Where the two disagree badly, the listing is marked and pushed down the page instead of being promoted.

How a deal gets on the board

Where the board is right now

The listings currently on the board were checked by hand against each retailer's own page, and are updated by hand rather than by a live feed. That means the board is accurate as at the date on each deal, but it will not catch a price change the moment it happens. The automated collection described above is built and tested, and is being switched on retailer by retailer as affiliate partnerships are approved.

What the board covers

Groceries and household essentials, clothing and footwear, electronics and computing, home and kitchen, health and beauty, baby and kids, and tools and outdoor. Both Australian and New Zealand retailers, with prices shown in the local currency and a region switch at the top of every page.

Who runs it

Tasman Bargain Board is run by [your name or trading name], an independent operator based in [city, country]. It is not owned by, or operated on behalf of, any retailer or retail group.

Questions, corrections and merchant enquiries all go to [email protected], or use the contact page.

How the site makes money

Through affiliate commission on some outbound links, and nothing else. There is no paid placement, no sponsored ranking, and no charge to readers. The affiliate disclosure sets out exactly how that works and what it does and does not influence.

Getting something wrong

Prices move, feeds go stale, and a listing that was right this morning can be wrong by tonight. If you find a price on the board that does not match the retailer's own page, tell us and it gets corrected or pulled. That is the fastest way to make this thing more useful, and it is genuinely welcome.
